LSU Houston Continues to Contribute to Our Alma Mater!
LSU Houston wants to share the amazing results of our giving back to the alma mater that we love! Through your support at our events and your membership, we are able to help so many LSU endeavors. Along with great volunteers over the year, the LSU Houston Alumni Association has had huge success in raising over $400,000 to support our University through various channels:
Two Endowed Professorships of which one resides in the College of Basic Sciences and one in the College of Business.
An Endowed LSU Alumni Top 100 Scholarship for students with academically qualify and is awarded by LSU Admissions and Aid*
Two Legacy scholarships which were set up by our local alumni chapter to help local Houston area students offset out-of-state fees. The student must academically qualify and have at least one parent who has graduated from LSU; these are awarded by LSU Admissions and Aid*
A TAF Foundation of Champions Scholarship to assist with offsetting tuition, housing and meals for student athletes.
$25,000 to assist in building out the new Career Services Center in the LSU Student Union
$25,000 to build out a study room in the new Patrick F. Taylor Engineering building
$5,000 as part of the new Tiger Band Hall campaign
$5,000 to the Chancellors Flagship Fund and Alumni Leadership Fund
*Note that that LSU Alumni Chapter does not have any involvement in awarding scholarships. Undergraduate Admissions and Student Aid reviews all student applications to determine students’ eligibility for scholarships and selects and manages the award of these scholarships.
